Houston will try to get back on track after having a season-high seven-game winning streak cut short with Wednesday's 105-99 loss versus Milwaukee in the opener of a four-game homestand.

"We gave up 63 points in the second half. There's no excuse for that," said Rockets coach Kevin McHale. "We had a great second quarter followed by a poor third quarter and then we couldn't ... we just never got any momentum in that game until late but when we started defending again it was too late."

A 20-0 burst bridging almost five minutes in the third and fourth quarters proved to be the difference for the Bucks, as they turned a 70-66 deficit into an 86-70 lead with 8:55 to go in the fourth. Houston, which got 18 points and eight boards from Luis Scola, dropped its first home game to Milwaukee since November 2, 1999 and was riding its longest winning streak since a 22-game run back in the 2007-08 campaign.

(Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Atlanta Hawks hope to bounce back from a miserable showing their last time out tonight when they continue a five-game road trip against the Detroit Pistons at the Palace in Auburn Hills. Atlanta seemed lost at times on Wednesday when it dropped a 105-83 decision to the San Antonio Spurs. Jeff Teague led the Hawks with 20 points, while Josh Smith netted 13 on 6- of-17 shooting.

"They outplayed us," Hawks head coach Larry Drew said bluntly. "If you look at that stat sheet, they beat us in just about every category."

Detroit, meanwhile, also enters tonight's contest on a losing note after falling, 101-98, to the Miami Heat on Wednesday.

"We definitely gave a great effort tonight, everybody's intensity was really high, everybody was focused and we were all playing together," said Monroe. "It was a tough loss."

As well as they may have played against one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference, it was still the Pistons' 12th loss in 14 tries. However, head coach Lawrence Frank was pleased with his team's effort.

Miami, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is expected to miss the next two games in an effort to heal a variety of injuries. Anthony will sit out Friday's contest at Miami and will also miss Saturday's contest at Houston because of thumb, wrist and ankle issues. He has tried to play through the pain recently and has struggled mightily.

Academy Award Betting Odds for Best Picture Offer Great Value

If there is any category that is not an obvious win for any one nominee in this year's Academy Awards, it would be for Best Picture.  Sure the Departed is a 5/7 favorite, but that's hardly anything when we look at Helen Mirren and her "out-of-reach" 1 to 40 odds (which means you would win a whopping $1 for every $40 bet).

For value, take a look at MySportsbook.com Oscars betting odds on my personal favorite, The Queen - a remarkable 12 to 1 long shot.  The film hasn't won any pre-awards for Best Picture (compared to The Departed and Little Miss Sunshine), but there is a tremendous following and it is a strong enough film to warrant a surprise win.

TV Guide advises Oscar watchers should be cautioned not to discount the  drama "Babel" with its strong social themes about overcoming communication gaps among people of different cultures.

"While 'Babel' lost several guild awards to 'Sunshine' and 'Departed,'  it still enjoys loyal support, and historically Oscar voters favor dramas with social messages over comedies like 'Sunshine' and violent crime movies like 'Departed'."

"It hasn't done well in the guilds, which means there isn't much industry support," said Tom O'Neil of awards site TheEnvelope.com, "But several critics are expecting it to win, and that gets my attention." Babel had 7 to 2 odds at press time.

Who is to say independently produced Little Miss Sunshine won't be this year's Crash.  Last year, Crash won for Best Motion Picture, shocking those who bet on gay cowboy flick, Brokeback Mountain, as the favorite to win.
